The recent Qatar Government budget is the largest national budget for infrastructure spending historically. Our client, a government authority, therefore has seen a significant increase in project size for the forward 3-5 years. To support this growth, our client, would like to appoint a Director for Drainage Projects for the country of Qatar to guide the project management function to a world standard. This candidate will be provided the scope to impart their technical knowledge within a fast growing economy as a technical advisor. Responsibilities include:

• Technical advisory in the project management of drainage projects from concept, through construction until hand over of the project.
• Advising improvement of the operational and fiscal activities of the Strategic Business Unit and the development / implementation of systems and procedures to improve the operating quality/effectiveness of the business;
• Provide recommendations for the development of continuous improvement plans to strategically enhance the performance of the Drainage Projects Division;
• Responsibility for monitoring and reporting on the performance of the Drainage infrastructure departments.

Key attributes for this role include:

• Engineering Degree or comparable with specialization in Drainage infrastructure projects
• Masters in business administration is preferred
• Minimum 15 years experience in the Drainage infrastructure projects, with at least 10 years at senior project management or contract management level. Candidates at this level must have worked to General Manager or Project Director level.
• Experience of managing high performing multi-disciplinary teams and being responsible for 50+ staff.
• Experience in managing, coordinating, and administering medium-size, complex, multi function projects
• Experience in managing and controlling multi million riyal budgets.
