Project: Mega Infrastructure Project

Our client, a leading global construction firm renowned for its success in mega infrastructure projects, has an expatriate opportunity for a Senior Construction Manager to join their firm on an exciting new infrastructure/healthcare project in the GCC region, working on a complex design and build project.
Reporting to the Project Operations Director, you will be responsible for managing a multinational team and overseeing the entire construction process for the project, including structural works, finishings, MEP works, façades, and handover. You will have full responsibility for all site construction activities as well as responsibility for logistics and planning for the project. The key function is to lead, direct and manage the construction, planning and logistics teams to bring the project in on time, to budget and to quality world class standard.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Maintaining client on site relations to ensure continuity and client's needs are being met.
- Coordinating between construction, engineering and procurement throughout the project cycle to ensure achievement of overall project schedule.
- Ensuring the Planning Team has all relevant information and a detailed Plan is in place.
- Assisting in the set-up of and producing contractual documents and correspondence.
- Managing budgets to meet maximum profitability and keep the company in a profitable position.
- Manpower forecasting for the project and managing Industrial Relations on site.
- Coordinating regular on site meetings.
- Monitoring performance against the program.
- Identifying and mitigating any potential risks associated with the contract scope and program.
- Providing detailed and regular progress reports.
- Managing all contract close-out arrangements.
- Training and development of team to ensure maximum performance
- Ensuring the safe operations of all staff on the project.
- Monitoring and controlling sub contractors, consultants and vendors work.
The key attributes for this role include:
- B.Sc in Civil Engineering or Mechanical
- An absolute minimum of 15 years as a ‘Contractor' in the construction of prestigious buildings. Hospital experience will be highly regarded
- Experience at ‘Managing' USD Billion plus projects in a similar position and within a JV environment is essential
- Proven Design, Build, Cost and Planning experience
- A strong diplomatic leader is needed for this role, but also someone fair in character
- Expatriate experience in the Middle East will be highly regarded.
