International consulting project management and design consulting group with regional Gulf operations seeks a Director Construction Management (Infrastructure) to lead and manage the firm’s infrastructure construction management operations including business development, QA/QC and the financial performance of construction management projects across the MENA region as well as internationally. The firm’s core areas of infrastructure business include water and wastewater, drainage, solid waste, transportation, roads and highways, and environmental engineering disciplines.

Reporting to the CEO Infrastructure, the successful candidate we seek for this exceptional role will be responsible for the development, leadership and management of the construction management of the firm’s infrastructure projects throughout the GCC region (and internationally) for the firm whereby they will be responsible for the management of up to 21 complex infrastructure based project that a mega project size in value.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Direct Line Management of all Construction Managers for the firm on all projects on a global scale through the entire project cycle;
• Business development proposals, negotiation and conversion to support and drive this high growth organization;
• Development of construction management technical and financial proposals;
• Developing, fostering and maintaining ongoing relationships with clients, senior management, and business associates for all construction management projects;
• Leadership and management of the operation from a financial performance perspective;
• Peer review and technical input to ensure high levels of excellence;
• Strategic planning advice, input and implementation focused on growth, expansion and profitability to improve both business and financial performance of this division;
• Performance management of the construction management division;
• Development and implementation of QA/QC systems;
• Divisional recruitment and staff selection and responsible for ensuring ongoing high performing team initiatives;
• Continual improvement in delivery of projects also taking into account inter-office technical and equipment resources.

Key attributes for the role include:

• An Engineering degree qualification is required with a Masters qualification being highly regarded;
• 20 years post graduate experience, with at least 10 years of related experience at a senior management level;
• Candidates who have developed their careers through the site management to construction management career path will be highly regarded.
• Must have the ability to oversee the complete project cycle from start up to completion.
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to lead a high growth division;
• Commercial acumen is essential;
• Candidates must be prepared to travel extensively within the Middle East as well as internationally to support business needs;
• Middle East experience would be highly regarded.
